Terms of use
Last updated 23 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Ebor Labs Ltd (Unit 13 Freeland Park, Wareham Road, Lytchett Matravers, Poole BH16 6FA, United Kingdom) for using Little Cat. By creating an account you accept them. How we look after your data is in the privacy policy, which is part of these terms.
In an emergency, call 999. Little Cat is a care diary. It is not a medical device, it doesn’t diagnose, predict or detect seizures, it doesn’t work out doses, and its health advice has not been reviewed by a clinician. Always follow your child’s care plan and the advice of their care team. You use Little Cat at your own risk.
1. What Little Cat is
- A shared diary where the people looking after a child record seizures, medicines, feeds, sleep and other care, and see each other’s entries.
- Its health information is quoted from nhs.uk (other UK sources only where nhs.uk has nothing), with a link to the source. It is general information, not advice about your child.
- Charts and summaries show only what has been logged. Seizures that weren’t logged, or were logged wrongly, won’t show.
- Alerts can fail. Notifications depend on your phone, its settings, the network and services we don’t control. Never rely on Little Cat alone to tell someone a seizure is happening: call or text them, and call 999 when needed.
2. Your account
- You must be 18 or over. To start a diary for a child you must be their parent or have parental responsibility for them, and you confirm that when you start it.
- Keep your sign-in safe (password, passkey and the phone you use). You’re responsible for what happens under your account.
- The parents of a diary decide who else can see it and what they can do. Only invite people you trust, and remove them when they no longer care for the child.
- Give accurate information, especially the rescue plan, allergies and medicines, and keep them up to date with the care team.
3. Your diary is yours
- You own what you put in Little Cat. You give us permission to store it, copy it between your family’s phones and process it only to run the service for you, as the privacy policy describes.
- Only add photos or videos of other people when you’re entitled to.
- You can download everything at any time (More › For the doctor › Full backup).
- Storage: each diary can keep 2 GB of photos, videos and documents for free, or 20 GB with Little Cat Pro. If a diary is over its limit (for example after Pro ends), nothing is deleted and everything can still be viewed and downloaded; new files can’t be added until some are deleted, except seizure videos filmed from the timer.
4. Acceptable use
Don’t use Little Cat to break the law, to harm or harass anyone, or for anything other than caring for a child. Don’t try to reach anyone else’s data, get round its security or limits, overload it, copy it with automated tools, or upload anything harmful. We may suspend an account that does, and will tell you why unless the law stops us.
5. Little Cat Pro (the AI features)
- The diary is free. Little Cat Pro adds AI features from Anthropic’s Claude (reading clinic letters and medicine labels, summaries, the assistant for how-do-I questions and questions about the diary, and voice logging) for £5.99 a month, or £49 a year, per family.
- Fair use: Pro includes up to 300 AI actions a month per diary (each question, summary, file read or voice entry is one), shared by everyone in the family. That’s far more than a family normally uses; it’s there so the cost of the AI stays fair for everyone. If a diary reaches it, the AI features pause until the 1st of the next month and everything else carries on. There are also daily limits per person, for the same reason.
- Pro also raises the diary’s storage from 2 GB to 20 GB (section 3).
- Free trial: each diary can try Pro free for 14 days, once. You give card details at the start, but nothing is taken during the trial, and we email you 3 days before it ends. Cancel before the trial ends and you’re never charged; otherwise the price of the plan you chose is taken when it ends, and then every month or every year.
- A parent starts it in More › Settings › Little Cat Pro. You choose to pay monthly or yearly, by card through Stripe, and can switch between them in Manage subscription. Pro switches on straight away.
- Discount codes: we sometimes give codes (for example through epilepsy charities) that take money off. Add one on Stripe’s payment page; it applies as described when it’s given, and can’t be exchanged for cash.
- Who pays: the parent who starts Pro pays for it, with their own card, and only they can change or cancel it (other parents see who pays). A diary has one subscription at a time.
- Cancelling: any time in More › Settings › Little Cat Pro › Cancel Little Cat Pro. Pro stays on until the end of the month or year you’ve paid for, then the AI features stop and storage goes back from 20 GB to 2 GB. Nothing in your diary is deleted (if it’s over 2 GB, new files just can’t be added), and the free diary carries on as before.
- Your right to cancel: you can cancel for any reason within 14 days of:
- starting Pro (during a free trial nothing has been taken);
- your free trial turning into your first payment;
- each yearly renewal (and switching to the yearly plan, which starts a new year).
- Reminders: we email the parent who pays before they’re charged again. On the yearly plan, about 14 days before each renewal, with the price, the renewal date, how to cancel and your 14 days after it renews. On the monthly plan, every 6 months, with the price, that it renews every month, how to cancel and what you’ve had. The free trial has its own reminder 3 days before it ends.
- Refunds after that: outside those 14 days, payments aren’t refunded when you cancel (Pro carries on until the end of the period you’ve paid for), except where something we did wrong stopped Pro working or where the law gives you a refund.
- If a payment fails, Stripe tries again over the following days; if it still can’t be taken, Pro ends.
- Deleting the diary (the last parent deleting their account) cancels the subscription straight away.
- If the paying parent leaves: if they delete their account, or another parent removes them from the diary, their subscription is cancelled so they’re not charged again. Pro stays on until the end of the month or year already paid for (or the end of the free trial), then stops; another parent can then start their own.
- If we change the price, we’ll tell you at least 30 days before, and you can cancel before it applies.
- AI can make mistakes. Check everything it fills in against the original before saving. It never gives medical advice or works out doses.
- AI features send the information described in the privacy policy to Anthropic, only when you use them, and only on phones where they’re on. Starting Pro turns them on for your phone; others in the family choose on theirs, and anyone can turn them off in Settings.
6. Changes and availability
We keep improving Little Cat, so features may change. We aim to keep it running all the time but can’t promise it will never be interrupted, for example for maintenance or problems with the services it uses. We’ll give reasonable notice before removing a feature you pay for, or closing the service, so you can download your diary.
7. Our responsibility to you
- We provide Little Cat with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under consumer law, or our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
- Because Little Cat is a diary and not medical care, we are not responsible for decisions about your child’s care, for loss caused by relying on it instead of the care plan, the care team or 999, or for alerts or reminders that don’t arrive for reasons outside our control.
- Otherwise, our total responsibility to you for anything connected with Little Cat is limited to the greater of £100 and what you paid us for Little Cat Pro in the 12 months before the problem.
8. Ending
You can stop using Little Cat at any time and delete your account in More › Settings. If you’re the only parent of a diary, deleting your account deletes the whole diary for everyone in it; the privacy policy explains what happens to the data. We may close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms.
Diaries nobody uses: if nobody in a family opens Little Cat for 2 years, we delete that diary, so health information isn’t kept longer than it’s needed. We warn every parent by email, and every family phone with an alert, 30 days and 7 days before, and opening the app on any family phone keeps it. Download a full backup first if you want a copy. Diaries with Little Cat Pro running are not deleted this way.
9. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, the date at the top changes and the app tells you. If a change matters, we’ll tell you before it applies; if you don’t agree, you can delete your account.
10. Law and complaints
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also use your local courts and law. Questions or complaints: littlecat@eborlabs.com.
